Does God have sex?

It's a simple question, but the answer...

If we were created in God's image, then I assume he has all the right parts. If this is the case, who did he, or does he, have sex with?

Lets see what the "net" says.....~time lapse~.....Well I looked extensively for 10 minutes, and found very little. :)

It was brought up on one forum that God had sex with Mary, but I really don't think that's how it happened.

So, what do you think?

My theroy is, God is such a perfect being that he already knows every feeling, therfore has no need for sex, or any other pleasure.

But still, if he has no need for it, where did he come up with the idea? At any rate it was a damn good one!

Well, he knows everything so he can easily came with the idea. Afterall, sex is not the only way to reproduce a living being (look at the plants or the bacteria). Is just the funniest and more gratifying one.

I see the source of your confusion...you went to the net for the answers. :P For some reason that just reminded me of a quote of Michael Scott on the tv show The Office: "Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject, so you know you are getting the best possible information."

The answer to any question you could possibly need to have answered about God is found in the Bible. The fact that it doesn't say much about that subject should tell you something: You don't need to know. :P

There are some clues in there however that can point you in the right direction. In Luke the 20th chapter, the Sadducees asked Jesus who's wife a woman would be after the ressurrection if she remarried after her first husband died. Christ's reply was, "The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."

So what that means is that when this physical life passes and you become a Spirit Being, marriage and all the things that go along with it...sex, weddings, tax breaks, in-laws...will be a thing of the past.

You can read Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, Proverbs 5:18-19 among others and get a general picture that sex is something that God created for humans to enjoy. I heard a good analogy once that amoeba is to man as man is to God. I like to take that a step further and imagine that difference between the physical pleasures that humans enjoy compared to the physical pleasures of an amoeba are on the same scope of comparison of pleasure between human beings and spirit beings.

To God, experiencing the physical sensation of sex would be as thrilling as you or I going, "Woohoo, I just divided a cell." :P I am almost positive that God has something that is a thousand times more gratifying that we can't even begin to comprehend.
